Back in the ICU
Juliana is back in the hospital. This is the sickest I have seen her in a very long time. I never thought that I would hear someone say to me that she might not make it again but here we are. She has an infection from what we can tell thus far. The infection is causing her other organs to fail. She is intubated again and back on the high frequency oscillator with nitric oxide. It is set to very high settings and if this doesn't work we may end up going on ECMO (heart lung machine). Everytime she wakes up her sats drop and her heart stops so they are keeping her sedated and paralyzed. She doesn't look god at all. I really wish I had something good to say but i don't. I will try to post updates on her condition as much as possible. Please pray for my Juliana. She had come so far to lose her now.

Juliana Maria was born on July 12, 2008. She is a micro preemie born at 1lb 2oz. 11-1/2 in 23 weeks and 4 days gestational age.
I'm a fellow preemie blog mom'er, and also mom to a 23w4d little girl. I'm so sorry that Juliana is so sick. I will keep you guys in our prayers. Please update us when you can.
ReplyDeleteHeavenly Father, You are intimately aware of the struggle Juliana and her family are experiencing -- the pain and the despair. You know the desires of their heart that Juliana be healed of this illness. We ask now for Your healing touch. We know that You are able and that just like in Biblical times, You can heal Juliana.
ReplyDeleteWe also understand that You will chose what is best for her. We pray that through this trial, she will draw close to You -- that You will be her comfort and strength. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.”
Father in the mighty name of Jesus we ask that you touch this angel right now. Lord you have brought her this far by your miraculous power. Heal her Lord and strenghten her parents, help their faith to be in you and not in man. Increase their confidence in you, let them see the power of prayer manifested in this situation. Guide the doctors, give them knowledge and wisdom to treat Juliana, show them the source of the infection and how to treat it. We speak victory and not defeat!!! We praise you in advance for we know that you are God and there is nothing to hard for you!!!
ReplyDeletePraying for your precious girl and strength for you and your entire family.
ReplyDeleteJuliana and my daughter (Blaise) were roommates just before you left Children's Boston. We are so sorry to hear that Juliana is very sick. We are thinking about your whole family and hoping for the best.
